Magnetic Island in a (rare) early satellite photo. Picnic Bay, Nelly Bay, Arcadia and Horseshoe Bay are the "built-up" areas. Via a scenic winding road it is about 9 km from Picnic Bay to Horseshoe Bay. By the way, how many beaches did you count?  The main (very scenic) road on the Island is from Picnic Bay to Horseshoe Bay (9 km). The road from Picnic Bay to Westpoint is only sealed for a few kms. The mountainous road to Radical Bay, although sealed, should be used very carefully.
